Rex

Hi! My Name Is Rex

We're happy to tell you that Rex has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Our beloved Rex is a delightful spirited Chihuahua who was once a breeder dog in Lebanon County. Rex was turned over to the Humane League as part of the state’s Safe Harbor Program. This program was formed to save dogs that might otherwise be destroyed as breeders downsized or closed in response to tougher state kennel regulations. A Tail to Tell Puppy Mill Rescue welcomed him with loving arms in the summer of 2011.

Spunky Rex fared better than most puppy mill dogs in that he was sociable, friendly, and content. At the time of his rescue, his right eye had been damaged from an untreated infection so bad that the removal of his eye was the only option. (He had been shot in the head with a BB gun – the pellet is still in his neck.) He flourished in his new environment and grew quite plump. An then, he developed a cough which ultimately revealed a terminal heart condition. A Tail to Tell decided not to put him up for adoption. That’s when we decided to take him into our home and make the rest of his life comfortable. Rex is being cared for by us, along with my sister, Loraine and our friend Lisa.

Rex is living the rest of life in comfort and freedom in his furever home. He shows appreciation with countless doggy kisses. Rex lives each day to its fullest. Rex is a lively little fella and we cherish each day we have with him. He looks forward to his “short” walks, romping in the yard with his siblings, playing with his toys and wrestling with his doggy pals; especially our little Jennie. Morning snuggling and belly rubs are tops on his list of things to do.

We are all proud and happy to be able to provide this little cutie with a life of luxury and comfort. He deserves it after all he has endured. Rex says to ALL of his Tail to Tell fans (you know who you are) THANK YOU for loving me and believing in me!
