Habanero, aka Hobbie is our senior Chihuahua, who now is about 14 years old. He was found in a trash dumpster in the fall of 2012 , was terrified, depressed, and had horrific skin issues. As fate would have it, A Tail to Tell heard about his situation and said they would help this little guy out. He deserved a chance to live in a loving home; where his life mattered.
After spending a few months receiving medical treatment for his skin issues and living with the founder of A Tail to Tell, my husband and I said we would be interested in working with him as foster parents for a few weeks. We wanted to help him regain his trust with people. He joined us in December 2012, and after a few months (not weeks!) we made the happy decision to adopt him and make him a part of our family. The saving grace for him is a routine and a quiet, low-key home.
His skin issues are manageable now. While he still has tremendous fear of people, especially children, he is fiercely loyal to us. He loves his doggy siblings; especially our Alfie. He loves his daily walks, is playful, and is very loving to us and a few special humans. What he loves the most is sleeping in his bean-bag bed made by one of our awesome volunteers. He idolizes my husband and loves snuggling with him. He is our independent, quiet, moody old boy.
We love, understand and accept this little fella. Thank you for allowing us to adopt this very special doggy. With love, all things are pawsible.
